Feed Me Seymore!

Caet just finished eating her first ever bowl of rice cereal. She was chowing it down. I wasn't planning on starting solid until six months but she just watches me so intently while I eat. I kinda felt bad about eating in front of her. So today I held a spoon to her lips to see what she'd do. She opened her little mouth and attacked the spoon. Then I gave her a little sip of water. She totally sucked it down and wanted more. So from now on Caeti will be having dinner with us.

I love MTM!

It's that time again. Muffin Tin Monday! Today's theme was ABCs/123s.
Here's mine, I can't wait to see what everyone else did! =]

We had A cookie, B & C sandwiches,
1 carrot, number 2 cheese and 3 wedges of clementine.

And then Mina decided she didn't want the A cookie. So she had an A pumpkin muffin instead.

She actually ate a lot today. My hubby and I were joking she was "The Very Hungry Caterpillar." Which then of course we had to read it to her.
But here is a list of what she ate for lunch.
- 1/2 the pumpkin muffin
- 2 letter B sandwiches
- 2 letter C sandwiches
- 3 carrots
- 3 number 2 cheeses
- 3 wedges clementine
- 1 cup decaf earl grey tea

My Big Girl

So today Mina is 2 and a half. Time flies. I remember her being a tiny cute little baby. And it doesn't seem that long ago.
She is a very smart little girl and so silly. Here's a list of her accomplishments.

She is potty trained, day and night but I do wake her up at night to go.
She is learning her letters. She knows A,B,H,L,M & Z.
She is getting pretty good at counting but most of the time it sounds like 1,2,4,5,7,10,9,5 (we still need to work on that a little.)
She knows a little Spanish. Her favorite thing to say is ABRE!
She loves to read.
She is getting quite creative with the building blocks and can stack them up pretty high.
She loves to run and play on the playground.
She is a wonderful big sister and takes great care of Caeti.
She is a budding chef.
She can say gift certificate. =]
She dresses herself although some of her outfits are a bit funky.
She is a ballerina, princess, mermaid, schoolgirl, artist.

I love her so much and feel so lucky to be her mama. (Even when I want to strangle her =])

Crazy Weather

It HAILED on Wednesday! Mina was so excited about it she had to put on her coat and boots, grab her umbrella and go play in it. So decided that it was also necessary to run through the huge puddle near our apartment. Of course as I'm yelling "Don't run! You're going to fall!" she trips and lands face first into the muddy puddle. The jacket didn't keep her too dry in that situation.=]

This is the action shot. She is about to be face down in the puddle.
And since I'm such a sweet mommy I didn't photograph her shame.
Okay I was laughing so hard I couldn't. =]

Rain, rain don't go away, just stay out of the 6 foot circle around me!

It is pouring rain. I hate the rain. I hate when my hair gets wet. When it's wet it gets super frizzy and tangle-y. But I'm kinda glad because we so desperately need this rain here in CA. Blah. At least it cleared up for 45 minutes this afternoon so the girls and I could go for a quick walk around the apartments. I don't know about other people's kids but mine go crazy stuck inside. So we also went to the library and had a playdate at our best friend's place. It made the day so much more manageable. Then for dinner we went to the in-laws. After dinner we stopped by my Aunt's house so Mina could play with her two girls. Hopefully it won't rain all day tomorrow and we can squeeze in a walk to Daddy's work. That would be great. I have been slacking on the exercise lately. Cloudy, gray days make me lazy. Plus, it is next to impossible to walk with a toddler & infant in the rain. I suppose I do have a jump rope and I just got a resistance band today (thanks Auntie!) so I could work out indoors. I'd just have to dig out my living room floor. Ugh. That requires Herculean effort. Which maybe I could count that as a workout. =] Why do my kids have so many toys? And why did I buy half of them even though they didn't need them? I must be insane.
We stopped at the swings on our walk during the break in the rain

Mina found the cutest Dora umbrella at the Goodwill today for $2.99.
It didn't stay open on it's own but a rubber band fixed that problem.

Muffin Tin Monday

Today is our first official MTM. Not our first muffin tin meal though. Mina couldn't wait to try it out so we ended up doing it on Thursday & Friday & Sunday. =]

Mina was sick last night, so today was a little crazy with me having to was ALL of her bedding, the bathroom rug, doll clothes and stinky jammies.
Easy on the tummy muffin tin lunch.
Toast with strawberry jam, bananas, more toast,
blackberry yogurt, raisins and chocolate bunny crackers.
Thursday's MTM.
Our theme was things that start with the letter M
mint chocolate cookies, mango, peanut butter and jelly shaped like the letter M
Mozzerella cheese, mini pumpkin muffin and another letter M sandwich.
She was so excited to eat out of a muffin tin.

And our butterfly waffles and bacon from Saturday. =]

My kitchen was super dirty after muffin baking and because I've been too lazy to clean it for the past three days. So I finally cleaned it today.

Christmas vacation and New Years Eve excitment

Hello I'm the world's worst updater. I've been meaning to update the blog for over a week. But this is really the first time I've had the time and energy. I can FB with one hand but even that is a chore.
Okay, so we've had an interesting few weeks with trips to the ER, projects galore, and trying (keyword here) to get the house clean. Lately I feel like my head is going to explode from all the craziness. So, first things first, Thank you everyone for all of the wonderful Christmas gifts. Mina is enjoying the heck out of all the new toys and clothes. Grovers, she loves her doctor set and plays with it at least twice everyday. Theresa, Mina loves her denim skirt with the pink butterfly embroidered belt. She likes to dance in it. Thank you Auntie Cynthia for the sparkly pink Tinkerbell shoes she love to wear them and she loves her Tinkerbell book too.
Grandma, you got the girls entirely too much stuff and they love it all. Mina especially likes her new movies and giant Tinkerbell pillow. Dad Mina loves her dress up clothes and wears all of them everyday. =] Nana thanks for the super cute jammies they keep Mina cuddly warm at night. And Mom thank you thank you thank you for the new toy box we really needed it.

So now about our oh so fun New Years Eve day. We spent an hour and a half in the ER getting Mina's poor little finger stitched up. I was sitting on the kitchen floor making room in the cabinet for my new food processor when Mina stuck her hand down the chute and sliced her middle finger on the left hand open on the cheese slicer attachment. She did really well at the hospital but didn't like being strapped down. Go figure. She's doing fine now and her finger is almost healed.

We really enjoyed having Tim home with us and I was totally bummed when he had to go back to work. We are slowly settling back into our normal routine but I miss having him around during the day. Life was a lot more relaxed.

Anyways, Caeti just woke up so I'll have to finish updating later.
